Da Nang speeds up five priority projects
DNO - Da Nang’s science and technology sector is accelerating the implementation of five priority projects. The purpose is to develop infrastructure to meet the requirements of breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The priority projects are an artificial intelligence (AI) Laboratory and Research Facility; a Fab-Lab combined with small-scale production of advanced semiconductor microchip packaging technology; the Da Nang Innovation Space; the investment in equipment and machinery for the Da Nang Biotechnology Center; and the equipment investment and LAN network upgrades for newly merged ward and commune headquarters.
Specifically, the Fab-Lab project has a total investment of VND 1.8 trillion. The project is being carried out according to the prescribed schedule and is expected to be inaugurated in the first quarter of 2026. The facility is planned to operate for 50 years from the date the investment policy is approved.
Meanwhile, the AI Laboratory and Research Facility project is being implemented concurrently with Phase 1, Package 2 of the Da Nang Software Park No.2 project. DSAC has already received the handover of the dedicated lab space on the 4th floor of the Software Park No.2.
On June 17, the Da Nang People's Committee approved the investment policy for the "Da Nang Innovation Space" project located in An Hai Ward. The project has a total investment of nearly VND 490 billion and a construction area of 1,863m2. It is implemented during the 2025 - 2028 period.
The project is a science and technology infrastructure asset, designed to provide innovation spaces, co-working areas, and technical facilities for incubators and shared technical and IT equipment.
The project on investing in equipment and machinery for the Da Nang Biotechnology Center has been approved by the city to adjust and supplement the public investment capital plan for 2025 and the medium-term public investment capital plan for the 2021 - 2025 period.
Regarding the “Equipment investment and LAN network upgrades for newly merged ward and commune headquarters” project at a total cost of nearly VND 15 billion, the city is carrying out bidding procedures. The selection of contractors will be completed in August and the construction work will be completed in September 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology, emphasized the importance of expediting the five priority projects in 2025 in developing infrastructure to foster the city’s science and technology ecosystem, and promote innovation and digital transformation.
He added that the department has been monitoring progress and proposing implementation solutions for other key infrastructure projects such as the Da Nang Bay IT Park (VNPT) and the Viettel Da Nang Building.
