Participants include students, alumni, and faculty members under and over 50 years old from countries across the region, including Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan (China), India and Vietnam.

The event is jointly organized by the Asian Pickleball Federation, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Da Nang Pickleball Federation, and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports.

Players are competing in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across multiple age and experience categories. The tournament has drawn large crowds and delivered exciting, high-quality matches, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity in the region.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, the Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, pickleball remains a relatively new sport in Asia and Vietnam but is rapidly gaining ground, promoting athletic spirit and community engagement. Da Nang was selected as the host city thanks to its strong pickleball movement, well-developed facilities, and previous success organizing regional events.

Earlier this year, the 2025 Asian Youth Pickleball Open also took place in Da Nang’s Tam Ky Ward, drawing nearly 600 participants. This marked the second consecutive year the city had hosted an international pickleball tournament.

Now considered a national hotspot for pickleball, Da Nang boasts extensive court networks and well-run clubs, making the sport increasingly accessible to local residents and visitors alike.
