Da Nang is gaining momentum as Vietnam’s next high-tech hub, with major strides in semiconductors and AI during the first half of 2025.

A key milestone is the city’s approval of a VND 1.8 trillion (approx. US$ 70 million) project by VSAP LAB to build an advanced semiconductor packaging lab on a 2,288m² site in Da Nang Software Park No.2.

Designed to produce up to 10 million products annually, the lab is slated for completion in 2026.

This is one of five priority projects aimed at establishing a full-value semiconductor ecosystem, including manufacturing, testing and R&D of high-tech electronics.

Simultaneously, the Da Nang Semiconductor and AI Center for Research and Training (DSAC) is pushing ahead with the development of an AI laboratory, expected to be operational by the end of 2025.

DSAC has also partnered with global technology firms such as Synopsys, GASA (under Sovico Group), and the U.S.-based Tresemi to launch training labs for semiconductors and AI.

Policy support is a cornerstone of the city's strategy. Since January 2025, Da Nang has implemented tailored incentive policies under Resolutions No. 58 and 59, offering tax exemptions and infrastructure support.

Strategic partners officially recognized by the city include FPT Corporation and Marvell Technology Vietnam, with more companies in the pipeline.

On the talent front, eight universities and colleges in Da Nang began offering semiconductor-related programmes in 2024, targeting 1,000 new students annually and aiming to train 5,000 professionals by 2030.

DSAC has also conducted eight specialized training courses, attracting nearly 300 students and faculty members.

The city is now home to 23 semiconductor companies, up from nine in early 2024—highlighting Da Nang’s growing appeal as a hub for high-tech investment and innovation in central Vietnam.
