After the visit, Chairman Triet met with local departments to hear reports and suggestions. He stressed the need for careful, realistic planning that fits the budget.
Since current data is still general, he asked agencies to work together to review details, especially population data. He also urged them to quickly summarise all feedback and issues to report to the City Party Committee.
According to the city’s Management Board of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Zones, Phase 1 (2025 - 2027) will focus on staffing, training, updating the master plan, approving zoning, creating a legal framework, and clearing land for the Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
In Phase 2 (2028 - 2030), focus will shift to integrating technologies like blockchain and AI for customs, expanding multimodal logistics services, building data centres, and developing a digital economy ecosystem. The FTZ’s boundaries and infrastructure will also be expanded.
The Da Nang Free Trade Zone will consist of seven non-contiguous sites, each with distinct roles:
Site 1 (100ha, Hai Van Ward): Smart logistics hub serving Lien Chieu Port.
Site 2 (77ha): Logistics and supporting industries, near Lien Chieu Industrial Park.
Site 3 (500ha): Eco-industrial and riverfront commercial zone by Cu De river.
Site 4 (559ha, Ba Na commune): High-tech logistics and production complex.
Site 5 (90ha): Luxury commercial, medical, and tourism services near Ba Na Hills.
Site 6 (154ha): Integrated resort, commercial and industrial zone connected to Ba Na Hills.
Site 7 (401ha, Hoa Vang): Science, technology, and innovation hub with research institutes and startup centres.
