Digital government efficiency

Digital transformation is considered to be the leading platform to effectively serve the implementation of the 2-tier administration model as well as arrange the new administrative boundaries of the city.

According to the municipal Department of Science and Technology, in the first 6 months of the year, the competent authority already completed the arrangement of the Data Center infrastructure in service of the installation and operation of information systems supporting governance, public services, and businesses.

At the same time, the transmission bandwidth from the municipal level to the commune level was upgraded. The connection and integration of the online meeting systems of the two localities into a unified system for common use was completed.

To support users, a 24/7 hotline service (Call Center 1022) was launched with dedicated operators and technical staff. Post offices now have at least one staff member stationed at each commune and ward to receive administrative documents.

Technology and Professional Response Teams have also been established for long-term operation at the People's Committees at commune and ward levels. In addition, the Youth Union and the Community Digital Technology Teams have supported people at the Public Administration Service Centers.

1,921 out of the 1,948 administrative procedures are now available online, reaching a rate of 98.6%. Additionally, 1,185 online public services have been integrated into the National Public Service Portal, accounting for 61.7% (exceeding the national target of 40%).

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, said that after the first week of operation of the 2-tier administration model, the city's information system basically met the requirements of public service activities and the use of administrative procedures by people and businesses, without any significant incidents or obstacles.

Impressive digital economic results

In 2024, the total revenue of the city's information and communication sector reached VND 39,888 billion, representing 100.16% of the plan and up 9% compared to the same period in 2023. Software export turnover reached US$ 165 million, reaching 101.85% of the plan and up 12% against 2023.

During the January-June period, the local information technology industry earned VND 13,816 billion in revenue, a rise of 25% compared to the same period in 2024. Software export turnover generated US$ 92.5 million, an increase of about 14% compared to 2024.

Recently, a number of digital technology products and services of information technology enterprises based in Da Nang have been continuously honored with major awards such as Sao Khue Award 2025, and Viet Nam Industry 4.0 Top.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong informed that “Recently, Da Nang was named one of the top five destinations in Asia for digital nomads in 2025 by U.S.-based travel guide Travel Off Path. This proves that the central city is an ideal destination for experts in the fields of technology and creativity”.

The growing presence of digital nomads can bring new ideas, modern skills and global perspectives to the local community, especially for young people and startups. Their sharing on social media helps promote the city’s image to a large number of international followers, luring more investors to the city.
