Hoi An named among top 8 family-friendly destinations in Asia by Time Out
Hoi An has been named one of the top eight family-friendly destinations in Asia by Time Out, a leading travel magazine based in the UK. Ranked sixth on the list, Hoi An stands out for its tranquil pace of life, distinct from other bustling modern destination in Viet Nam.

According to Time Out, the selected destinations were praised for their safety, convenience, and variety of engaging activities for all ages, ideal for creating unforgettable family memories. In Hoi An, visitors can stroll through the charming ancient town, explore peaceful rice paddies, relax on beautiful beaches, and enjoy local experiences such as tasting Vietnamese ‘banh mi’ (a Vietnamese baguette filled with paste, cold cuts, herbs, cucumber, chili sauce and pickles), sipping coconut coffee, joining lantern-making workshops or having custom clothes tailored in just a few hours.
Other destinations featured on the list include Hokkaido (Japan), the Maldives, Sumba (Indonesia), Singapore, Bhutan, Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Koh Lipe (Thailand).
In addition to Hoi An, the magazine also highlighted Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City as two of the best destinations in Asia for solo travellers. It described Viet Nam as a compelling country to explore alone, thanks to its “unique beauty and complicated history.”. “The country has grown into a popular travelling hotspot, and that’s led to a thriving social scene, the well-established tourist route means it should be really easy to meet like-minded travelers to journey alongside,” the magazine noted.
For solo visitors, Time Out recommended Ha Noi’s Ta Hien Street and Ho Chi Minh City’s Bui Vien Street as lively gathering spots where backpackers can meet fellow travelers and enjoy “the vibrant atmosphere, numerous bars and restaurants, and affordable accommodation.”
