Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2025 opens in Da Nang

The Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2025, the tenth of its kind, kicked off at the East Sea Park in the central city of Da Nang on Friday evening.

Attending the opening ceremony of the festival was Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.

In her remarks at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2025 marked a significant milestone in the decade-long journey of this symbolic event.

Also, this year's festival was particularly special, coinciding with the establishment of the new Da Nang. It symbolized not only the beginning of a new developmental path but also created more opportunities for cooperation and exchange between the newly formed Da Nang and its Japanese partners and localities, she emphasized.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki expressed his delight that the Viet Nam-Japan Festival 2025 was the first festival held in the new city of Da Nang. He hoped that this will be an opportunity to further promote people-to-people exchanges between Japan and Da Nang.

Taking place from July 4 – 6, this year’s festival features a wide range of exciting activities, including an exhibition highlighting Da Nang - Japan cooperation achievements, display of typical products of both sides, Bon Odori festival, Japanese tea ceremony, Japanese wrestling performances, and a cosplay contest. In addition, there is a Viet Nam - Japan cultural and artistic exchange programme.
