Indian Ambassador praises cooperation in preserving My Son Sanctuary
(QNO) - On June 22, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, Sandeep Arya, and his wife visited the My Son Sanctuary in Quang Nam province.

Nguyen Cong Khiet, Director of the My Son Heritage Management Board, shared updates on the restoration of tower groups E and F, expressing gratitude for the Indian government’s support. He also praised the professionalism of Indian experts from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) working closely with Vietnamese teams.
Ambassador Sandeep Arya highly appreciated the conservation results achieved since 2017, calling it a symbol of the strong Vietnam-India friendship, especially in cultural and heritage cooperation. He also commended the skills and dedication of Vietnamese workers on the project.

The E and F tower group restoration, funded by a USD 4.8 million grant from the Indian government, began in March 2025 and was scheduled for completion by 2029.
The preservation partnership started with a 2014 agreement between the two governments. India has since funded over USD 2.2 million to restore other towers. In 2024, both countries signed a new commitment to continue preserving My Son and Dong Duong Monastery.
