Hoi An Youth Forum on environmental protection
(QNO) - The Hoi An Women's Union, in collaboration with Live & Learn Center for Environment and Community and the Department of Agriculture and Environment, has organized the 2025 forum titled "Hoi An Youth Join Hands in Waste Sorting and Environmental Protection."
The event is part of the “Green Citizens - Healthy Cities” project implemented in collaboration with Tam Ky and Hoi An authorities (Quang Nam province, Vietnam).
Attendees included local government departments, women’s unions, students from several wards, and female scrap collectors. The forum addressed current waste management practices in Hoi An and highlighted initiatives such as the “Green House” model and waste sorting at source.
Students proposed ideas to enhance 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) practices in schools and homes, creatively engage youth in sustainability, and support scrap collectors more effectively.
The forum aimed to boost youth awareness and action on environmental issues, while strengthening cooperation between communities and informal waste workers.
