Teaching and learning Korean language in digital era
(QNO) – On June 14, the International Network for Korean Language and Culture Studies (INK), in collaboration with Dong A University, co-hosted the 39th International Conference themed “Hallyu and the Teaching of Korean Language and Culture in the digital era.”

The event, co-hosted by INK and Dong A University, gathered over 100 scholars from countries including South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and China, featuring more than 50 papers on Korean language education, translation, and culture.
Discussions focused on digital-era challenges and solutions in Korean language and culture teaching, as well as interpreter training.
Since 2021, Korean language has been introduced as a first foreign language in Vietnamese schools, with 48 universities, including Dong A, offering Korean studies by 2025. TOPIK participation has surged from 16,000 to 63,000.
The annual INK conference, rotating among countries active in Korean Studies, was held in Vietnam this year, marking Dong A University’s 43rd international academic collaboration.

As part of the program, two agreements were signed to promote Korean language education and academic exchange.
Dong A University and INK agreed to collaborate on international research, information sharing, and co-hosting academic events.
Another agreement with the International Association for Korean Translators and Interpreters focuses on joint research projects, curriculum development, academic material exchange, and organizing Korean translation - interpretation assessment exams in Vietnam.
