Bay Mau nipa palm forest in Hoi An
(QNO) - Just 3km from Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam province), Bay Mau nipa palm forest attracts visitors with its green nipa palm trees, peaceful rivers, and fun activities.

The forest was planted hundreds of years ago by locals in Cam Thanh to protect the land from erosion. Over time, it grew into a large forest, becoming Hoi An’s green lung and a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.

A popular activity here is the coracle tour. Small round boats carry 2–3 people through the nipa palm groves. Local boatmen skilfully row and spin the coracle in circles, often performing tricks that make visitors laugh. Along the way, you can hear local stories and enjoy the calm river views.

Many tours are available:
- Full tour, from Da Nang or Hoi An, includes a coracle ride, a coracle spinning show, folk games, and a night walk in Hoi An. - Half-day tour includes hotel pickup, coracle ride, a free palm-leaf hat, tea, and snacks.
- Combo tour offers some further activities, including cooking, farming, and fishing, great for families or foreign tourists.
Other fun activities include making nipa palm-leaf toys, coracle races, hand-fishing, and tug-of-war. Many tours offer local food like Vietnamese crepes, Quang noodles, grilled fish, and fresh vegetables.
