Quang Nam and Sekong provincial Youth Unions strengthen cooperation
(QNO) – During an international volunteer trip to Laos, the Quang Nam Provincial Youth Union held talks with the Sekong provincial Youth Union (Laos) to review the implementation of their 2023 – 2028 cooperation agreement.
Building on previous cooperation, in August 2023 in Sekong province, the Quang Nam and Sekong Provincial Youth Unions signed a memorandum of understanding for the 2023 - 2028 period.
Over two years, the two units have maintained regular contact and jointly organized various activities, including cultural and sports exchanges between the youth of both provinces; free medical check-ups and medicine distribution to over 250 residents of Sekong; training and transfer of scientific and technical advances; pilot planting of 100 grapefruit trees in Ka Lum district (Sekong); and donating 150 gifts to Sekong residents and Youth Union staff.
At the talks, both sides praised the strong traditional friendship and youth cooperation between the provinces and emphasized preserving Vietnam - Laos solidarity.
They agreed to strengthen cultural exchanges, enhance international volunteering, and promote youth entrepreneurship, green economy, digital transformation, and border law awareness under their 2023 - 2028 cooperation plan.
Quang Nam Youth Union supported disadvantaged people in Sekong with solar equipment, a youth nursery project, and gifts for 50 families and 30 students. They also donated computers and a printer to Sekong Youth Union, totaling over 100 million VND.
