The first-ever international paragliding competition in Hoi An
(QNO) – On the morning of June 5, an international paragliding performance and competition kicked off in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) as part of the 2025 Quang Nam - Green Heritage Land activities.
The competition, co-organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was part of the 2025 Quang Nam Culture, Sports and Tourism Days and marked the first paragliding event ever held in the province.
It featured 31 pilots, including 10 international tourists from Thailand, Laos, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand, and 21 pilots from paragliding clubs across Vietnam.
The 2025 paragliding performance and competition in Quang Nam was held at Hoi An Impression Park and Nam Ngan Islet (Cam Nam ward).
According to the flight route, motorized paragliders carrying the national flag took off from Nam Ngan Islet, flying toward Bay Mau nipa palm forest, looping down to the Cua Dai sandbank, then following the Cua Dai coastline up to An Bang, passing over the Tra Que rice fields, heading south to Hoi An Impression Theme Park, and landed back at Nam Ngan Islet.
As part of the event, 10 motorized paragliders performed in formation, carrying the national flag.
The competition run until the afternoon of June 6, with a closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the pilots held the same evening, coinciding with the opening of the Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Quang Nam 2025.
