Ngoc Linh ginseng - national treasure
(QNO) - From the "hidden medicine" of the Xe Dang ethnic people, Ngoc Linh Ginseng is gradually reaching the world through various promotional efforts, showcasing its value as a national treasure of Vietnam.
For the first time, the International Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival will be held in Quang Nam Province in 2025, aiming to promote Ngoc Linh ginseng and the region’s signature medicinal herbs. The festival is set to open on August 1 at March 24 Square, Tam Ky city.
The 2025 Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival will feature a grand opening with traditional art performances and a ginseng deity procession by the Xe Dang ethnic group. Highlights include a marathon, cultural exchanges, exhibitions, and a scientific conference on Ngoc Linh ginseng’s journey from a national product to a global brand.
Supporting activities such as famtrips, presstrips, tourism conferences, and a creative contest will also take place. The festival’s key ritual honors the mountain gods and celebrates the sacred ginseng, symbolizing prosperity for local communities.
The opening ceremony may also include a fireworks display for visitors and locals.
Throughout the festival, Quang Nam will recreate an exhibition space combined with traditional cuisine. A highlight of the festival is the display of medicinal products under the OCOP (One Commune, One product) brand and Ngoc Linh ginseng, alongside unique traditional handicraft products from the Quang Nam region.
