A plan for northwest urban area of Chu Lai airport
(QNO) - Quang Nam is planning the northwest urban area of Chu Lai airport, covering more than 538 hectares and designed to accommodate around 35,000 residents.
This urban area will be equivalent to a type II city in scale and function, located across Tam Nghia, Tam Quang, and Tam Giang communes, and Nui Thanh town in Nui Thanh district.
The plan divides the urban area into two main zones. Zone 1, spanning approximately 239 hectares, combines urban development with renovation, including new residential areas, existing neighbourhoods linked to small industries and craft villages, parks, and commercial services. Zone 2, covering about 299 hectares, is designed as a commercial and public service centre.
The development aims to provide ecological residential zones with modern infrastructure, renovated housing, commercial offices, public service buildings along Vo Chi Cong street, and mixed-use structures including offices and hotels.
This comprehensive plan supports the growth and modernisation of the region, creating housing and resettlement spaces for major projects in Nui Thanh district while promoting sustainable urban development.
