Quang Nam aims for an international-class green tourist destination
(QNO) - The Quang Nam provincial People's Committee has recently issued a tourism development plan with the goal of establishing tourism as a leading economic sector, focusing on sustainable development, and enhancing cultural identity, with the local people and heritage at the centre.
Quang Nam’s tourism strategy is focusing on green tourism, which emphasises biodiversity conservation and promoting the values of world heritage sites and the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An Biosphere Reserve. The province aims to welcome 8.9 million visitors by 2025 and 12 million by 2030.
Quang Nam will review and attract investment in infrastructure, prioritising key areas such as Hoi An, My Son, and Cham Islands. The province plans to develop a high-quality tourism ecosystem and enhance facilities such as conference centres, museums, high-end hotels, and international-standard restaurants.
The "One Green Destination - Three World-Class Experiences" brand, covering Hoi An, My Son, and Cham Islands, will be the primary tourism product. The province will also promote health, agricultural, ecological, and MICE tourism, along with festivals celebrating local culture and OCOP products.
To improve connectivity, Quang Nam recommends upgrading Chu Lai Airport to international standards, expanding the seaport, and improving transportation infrastructure.
The local tourism industry will also enhance digital transformation, apply AI, big data, and cashless payments, while building a strong promotional strategy on social media and traditional media.
