Tay Giang successfully grows over 1 hectare of Ngoc Linh ginseng
(QNO) - According to Tay Giang district’s report to the Quang Nam Department of Science and Technology on May 22, 2025, the district has piloted Ngoc Linh ginseng cultivation on over 10,300 m² in Ch’ơm commune since 2019.
The planting areas, located at 1,320m altitude with over 70% forest canopy and a cool climate (16-22°C), provide ideal conditions for the ginseng’s growth.
Survival rates after one year reached 80-90%, with plants flowering, fruiting, and some 5-7-year-old plants ready for experimental harvesting.
Ngọc Linh ginseng in Tay Giang faces few pests, mostly root fungi in rainy seasons, controllable with organic care like shading and biological pest control.
Tay Giang considers this pilot highly feasible, supporting expansion to preserve this valuable endemic species and promote sustainable green economic development in the region.
