Da Nang - from a liveable city to a smart urban hub
(QNO) - Da Nang now embodies Uncle Ho’s vision of a peaceful, unified, and prosperous Vietnam. Over time, it has transformed into a dynamic, innovative coastal city known for its liveability.

The city proudly promotes its “5 Nos, 3 Haves, and 4 Safeties” policy: eliminating hunger, illiteracy, homelessness, and social vices, while ensuring stable housing, jobs, and a civilised lifestyle. These commitments have significantly reduced poverty, improved public security, and attracted visitors and investors.
As Da Nang merges with Quang Nam, increasing population and service demands present challenges. Local officials are working to maintain the balance of infrastructure and social policies to avoid congestion and sustain growth.

Da Nang’s focus on people-centered development has led to initiatives supporting the poor, students, and workers, with programs, including supporting students to school and job training for hundreds annually.
Policies also offer elderly residents financial support and free healthcare, alongside a vision for affordable housing.
The city’s modernization includes key infrastructure projects like Dragon Bridge and Da Nang International Airport.
A smart city initiative, integrating digital platforms for citizen engagement, has positioned Da Nang as a leader in smart city development, with 100% online public services.

The merger with Quang Nam will further expand opportunities. By 2030, Da Nang aims to become a top center for innovation, high-tech industries, and smart urban living.
Key policies and financial autonomy will fuel economic growth, turning Da Nang into a logistics, finance, and trade hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
