Cuban and Venezuelan delegation visits Quang Nam
(QNO) - On May 2, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung had a working session with the Cuban and Venezuelan delegation to Quang Nam.

The delegation, led by Alicia Elvira Corredera Morales, Head of the Asia - Oceania Department of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and Permanent Secretary of the Cuba - Vietnam Friendship Association, included key figures from the Vietnam solidarity movement, such as Rafael Suengas Martinez, Daysi Alonso Perez, and Nancy Zambrano Rivas.

During the meeting, Le Van Dung highlighted the visit as a special occasion to strengthen ties between Quang Nam, Cuba, and Venezuela.
He expressed gratitude for their support during Vietnam's struggle for independence and emphasised the opportunity to further strengthen the enduring friendship between the people of Quang Nam and these two countries.

Alicia Elvira Corredera Morales expressed deep honour in visiting the homeland of Hero Nguyen Van Troi, emphasising that for Cuba, Vietnam symbolises resilience and a close sibling bond. Cuba desires to strengthen exchanges, particularly with Quang Nam, which shares a significant historical connection.
In recent years, Quang Nam has fostered strong ties with Cuba and Venezuela, sending delegations and donating a statue of this hero along with educational equipment to Nguyen Van Troi Primary School in Havana.
In October 2024, provincial leaders visited Venezuela, attended the 60th anniversary of the Nguyen Van Troi Campaign, and inaugurated a monument in Caracas.

After the reception, the delegation visited Dien Ban, Hero Nguyen Van Troi's hometown, which has hosted Venezuelan ambassadors and engaged in people-to-people exchanges and presented gifts to Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School in recent years.
