An exchange between the Vietnamese and Philippine Coast Guards

(QNO) - On the morning of April 16, at Coast Guard Region 2 (Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam), the Vietnamese Coast Guard hosted an exchange with a delegation from the Philippine Coast Guard, led by Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Joeven L. Fabul.

This is one of the main activities marking the first visit of a Philippine Coast Guard ship to Vietnam, where they exchanged with the officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command.

Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of the Vietnamese Coast Guard Region 2, stated that this is the first visit of a Philippine Coast Guard ship to Vietnam and Region 2.

The visit provided an opportunity for both forces to exchange experiences and enhance cooperation, strengthening mutual understanding and trust.

Rear Admiral Joeven L. Fabul, Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard, thanked the Vietnamese Coast Guard Region 2 for the warm welcome and highlighted that the visit to Vietnam and Region 2 provided them an opportunity to exchange experiences in maritime management and protection.

On this occasion, a volleyball match was held between the Philippine and Vietnamese Coast Guards.

On April 17, officers from the CSB 8002 ship (Vietnam Coast Guard Region 2) and the BRP Gabriela Silang (Philippine Coast Guard) conducted joint training on search and rescue, fire prevention, and coordination.

Earlier, with approval from Vietnam's Ministry of Defence, the BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), with a crew of 84 under Captain Eleizer Gonzales Ibarientos, visited Da Nang from April 14 to 17, 2025.
