An agreement on a joint maritime training plan between the Philippine and Vietnamese Coast Guards

(QNO) - On April 15th, aboard the BRP GABRIELA SILANG of the Philippine Coast Guard docked at Tien Sa Port (Danang city), a meeting took place between the Vietnamese Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the officers of the BRP GABRIELA SILANG.

The meeting aimed to finalise the plan for joint search and rescue training and fire prevention drills in the Danang maritime area.

At the meeting, officers from both parties discussed the methods and procedures for organising the command and coordination during the joint search and rescue exercise, as well as fire prevention.

The discussion focused on ensuring the exercise objectives and how to meet safety protocols throughout the training process.

Earlier, on April 14th, Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of the Vietnamese Coast Guard Region 2 Command, hosted a meeting with Rear Admiral Joeven L. Fabul, Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard, along with representatives from the Philippine Embassy and the Defence Attaché Office of the Philippine Embassy in Vietnam.

These activities were part of the first-ever visit by the Philippine Coast Guard to the Vietnamese Coast Guard Region 2 Command to foster cooperation and engagement.
