(QNO) - The Por’ning cultural and community-based tourism village (Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province), is one of the most favored destinations thanks to its green tourism and tourism products closely tied to the distinctive indigenous culture of the Co Tu people.
The local authorities have supported the preservation of the unique culture of the Co Tu people, while also promoting the development of tourism products rich in local identity. This includes an emphasis on environmental protection alongside the preservation of the community's cultural identity.
In Por’ning village, the traditional cultural values and community heritage of the Co Tu ethnic group form the foundation for creating distinctive tourism products and developing ecological, community-based tourism in a sustainable manner.
Tay Giang is home to 16 ethnic groups, with the Cơ Tu accounting for 95% of the district’s population. Many villages in the region boast rich cultural traditions and a revolutionary history, and the cultural values of the Co Tu people have been well preserved.
Por’ning village preserves a rich and diverse array of traditional cultural values, deeply imbued with national identity. These values reflect strong community solidarity and a spirit of humanism, expressed through festivals, architecture, traditional customs, folk songs, dances, musical instruments, and traditional crafts.
In recent years, the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural values of the Co Tu people in Por’ning Village have received consistent attention from provincial, district, and commune authorities.
To date, the village has established groups dedicated to brocade weaving, bamboo and rattan weaving, wood carving, noi ly - hat ly (lyrical speaking and singing), and folk singing.
