DNO - Da Nang International Airport has officially deployed paperless flight procedures using facial recognition technology (Face ID) integrated on the VneID app.
Initially, the Face ID technology is applied to domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.
The implementation of biometric procedures marks an important step in the modernization and digital transformation of the aviation industry. It greatly contributes to enhancing passengers’ experience and reaffirming the pioneering role of the airport in applying advanced technology in operations.
To ensure a smooth check-in process, Da Nang International Airport recommends that passengers use a level 2 VNeID electronic identification account and update the latest version of the app.
Passengers are also advised to download the airline's official mobile application to support information verification. Valid identification documents such as a national ID card or passport should be carried as a backup in case of technical issues. The system is currently applicable only to passengers aged 14 and above.
Da Nang International Airport plans to expand the scope of biometric technology application to more airlines and routes in the coming time. At the same time, it will upgrade infrastructure in a bid to build a smart, modern airport model in sync with the national digital transformation strategy.
The implementation of paperless flight procedures at Da Nang International Airport is part of the inevitable trend of the modern aviation industry, aiming to provide passengers with safer, faster, and more convenient services.
