Over 3,500 athletes participated in IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2025

(QNO) - On May 9, the IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2025 kicked off with a press conference, marking the 10th anniversary of IRONMAN’s presence in Vietnam.

IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2025 attracted more than 3,500 athletes from 71 countries and territories.

The event was organized by Sunrise Events Vietnam (SEV) in coordination with the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other related departments. It took place over three days, from May 9 to 11.

This year, the race integrated mixed reality (MR) technology developed by tagSpace, allowing participants to navigate in real time, access enhanced information, and unlock exclusive digital content - all via a smartphone.

This year’s event featured two legends: Mark Allen, a six-time IRONMAN World Champion (fourth from left), and Yee Sze Mun, an 88-year-old athlete from Malaysia (third from left).

IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2025 opened up opportunities for athletes to earn 30 qualifying slots for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Spain. This year’s event also welcomed over 160 All-World Athletes (AWA), reinforcing the international prestige of the competition.

Athletes competed in three triathlon disciplines: 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, and 21.1 km running.
