(QNO) - The Da Nang Venture and Angel Summit 2025 (DAVAS 2025) officially kicked off on May 30.
The event was jointly organised by Da Nang Centre for Innovation and Start-up Support, Quest Ventures, and HVA Investment JSC.
DAVAS 2025 has been scaled up, attracting over 20 venture capital funds and investors from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and beyond.
Notable participants include Quest Ventures, Do Ventures, ThinkZone Ventures, and the Sunwah Innovation Centre, with total investments exceeding USD 3.5 billion.
The event also gathered more than 60 local and international experts and speakers, alongside over 30 start-up support organisations like Swiss EP, Kilsa Global, Draper House Vietnam, and E-Future Association.
In addition, 36 innovative start-ups from various fields such as technology, education, agriculture, and healthcare participated, 24 from Da Nang, others from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Ms. Nguyen Thị Anh Thi, Deputy Chairwoman of the Da Nang city's People's Committee, said the merger with Quang Nam will create a city of nearly 12,000 km² and 3 million people, boosting Da Nang’s role as a major socio-economic and innovation hub in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Through this event, Da Nang aims to build a community of angel investors and venture capital funds, helping innovative start-ups connect with investors and experts locally and globally.
The city hopes to grow its start-up ecosystem into a strong, attractive hub linking domestic and international start-ups for cooperation, investment, and development.
The event included funding 40 startups via 1:1 investor meetings, investment talks, signing innovation agreements, and launching the SOCIAL IMPACT CATALYST student startup network in Da Nang.
