(QNO) - On May 30, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ngoc Linh Ginseng from Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province) has been officially included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

Ngoc Linh ginseng has beneficial effects on health.

The decision highlights the traditional practices of harvesting, cultivating, and processing this valuable ginseng, which have been preserved and passed down through generations by local ethnic communities, particularly the Xo Dang people.

Often known as the “hidden medicine,” Ngoc Linh ginseng is celebrated for its powerful health benefits and healing properties. For the indigenous people living around the Ngoc Linh mountain range, this plant has long been regarded as a sacred remedy closely tied to their daily lives and cultural identity.

This recognition not only honors the unique cultural heritage of the region but also opens opportunities for sustainable development. The preservation and promotion of such traditional knowledge can help improve local livelihoods, boost eco-cultural tourism, and raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and indigenous wisdom.
