(QNO) - On the occasion of the traditional New Year (Bunpimay) Festival of Laos, a delegation of Quang Nam province led by Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Anh Tuan had a working visit to the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang on April 13.
At the working session, Deputy Chairman Tran Anh Tuan sent New Year’s greetings and best wishes to the staffs of the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang city.
He also mentioned some achievements in the friendship between Quang Nam and Laotian localities, especially Sekong province.
Deputy Chairman Tuan hoped to see more connections between Vietnamese and Laotian businesses and agencies with the ambassador's contribution, particularly through Nam Giang- Dak Ta Ooc international border gate, in the time to come.
Laotian Ambassador Viengxay Phommachanh agreed about the benefits of trading through Nam Giang- Dak Ta Ooc international border gate and the necessity to promote it.
Besides, it is essential to improve the infrastructure to facilitate the transportation in the area. Ambassador Viengxay Phommachanh also thanked Quang Nam for the provincial support and care given to Laotian students, especially in the complicated context of Covid-19.
Also in the meeting, two parties discussed some information about friendship activities on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Vietnam- Laos diplomatic relations and 45 years of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
