DNO - According to the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, two rustic yet distinctive dishes of Da Nang: ‘My Quang’ (Quang noodles) and ‘Cao Lau’ continue to make their mark as they are honored by TasteAtlas in the list of the world’s top 100 best noodle dishes in 2026.
TasteAtlas, considered as a global “food map", is a platform that evaluates and ranks dishes based on in-depth research and feedback from international diners.
Each published list receives great attention from global travelers seeking reliable local culinary experiences. Therefore, the continued recognition of Vietnamese dishes not only reflects the quality of their flavors but also shows the cultural depth in traditional cooking art.
In this year’s ranking, My Quang continues to captivate diners with its rich flavor, golden noodles, flavorful broth, roasted peanuts, fresh raw vegetables, and crispy grilled rice papers. This rustic dish has been part of local life for generations, carrying the simple yet generous spirit of Da Nang.
Meanwhile, Cao Lau impresses with its unique chewy noodles, savory char siu-style pork, fresh herbs, and a distinctive flavor. Despite evolving over time, this dish retains its original essence, becoming one of the city’s iconic culinary symbols that visitors always seek out when coming to Da Nang.
In addition to My Quang and Cao Lau, several other Vietnamese noodle dishes also appear in TasteAtlas’ top 100 for 2026, such as ‘pho’, ‘bun cha’ (rice vermicelli with grilled pork and fresh herbs), ‘bun bo Nam Bo’ (southern-style beef rice noodles), ‘bun rieu’ (crab noodle soup), ‘hu tieu’ (thin rice-noodle soup) and ‘banh da cua’ (crab cake soup with red rice noodles).
