Da Nang has recently been included on Lonely Planet’s list of the “10 Best Places to Travel Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve”.

The list features a diverse selection of destinations worldwide, including French Polynesia; Montreux, Switzerland; Cleveland, the USA; Da Nang, Vietnam; Leadville, the USA; Salzburg, Austria; Newport Beach, the USA; Victoria, Canada; Dunedin, New Zealand; and Dollywood and Pigeon Forge, the USA.

Da Nang is the only representative from Vietnam and the only Asian destination on the list. Ranked fourth, the city is highlighted for its relaxing urban beaches and its convenient access to UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Lonely Planet describes Da Nang as a city blessed with natural beauty with green mountains, long stretches of beaches, fresh seafood and a laid-back pace of life.

Its accessibility to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites is also noted as an advantage, giving travelers more reasons to extend their stays and broaden travel itineraries.

Among its recommended experiences, Lonely Planet puts Sun World Ba Na Hills at the top of its list of attractions in Da Nang, and describes it as one of the city's must-visit tourist spot.

The travel guide particularly highlights how the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area recreates European-inspired architectural landmarks, offering visitors a distinctive setting for sightseeing and entertainment. The Golden Bridge is one of the standout stops along this journey.

More than just sightseeing, Lonely Planet also provides specific recommendations for Da Nang’s cuisine, considering local food an essential part of the city’s appeal.

Visitors can start their day in Da Nang with a bowl of Quang noodles featuring shrimp, pork and quail eggs at 75 Chau Thi Vinh Te Street.

Other recommendations include shrimp-and-pork-stuffed “banh xeo” (Vietnamese sizzling pancakes) at Ba Duong Restaurant and a seafood meal at Be Man Restaurant.

These familiar local dishes offer visitors another way to experience the city, alongside its landmarks and scenic attractions.

Accommodation options also offer two distinct ways to enjoy Da Nang. For those wishing to stay close to the city's urban lifestyle, Lonely Planet recommends Novotel Danang Premier Han River, where all rooms offer views of the Han River and its iconic bridges.

Meanwhile, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on Son Tra Peninsula provides a private retreat surrounded by nature, featuring a secluded beach and lush forest scenery.

Da Nang’s inclusion in Lonely Planet's list adds another positive milestone to the city's tourism sector, particularly as it continues to feature in international rankings, travel publications and tourism trends looking ahead to 2027.

Previously, Lonely Planet honored Da Nang on its Best in Travel 2027 list as it featured the city among 50 destinations and experiences worth exploring worldwide. The publication highlighted its urban beaches, Son Tra Peninsula, cuisine and convenient access to UNESCO heritage sites.

Moreover, Skyscanner recently included Da Nang in its list of the world's Top 10 Trending Destinations for 2027 in the UK market. The city ranked seventh, recording a 68% year-on-year increase in searches for return flights. It was also the only destination from Vietnam and Southeast Asia to make the list.

In addition, travel platform Priceline selected Da Nang as one of its 10 recommended destinations to visit in 2027, highlighting memorable experiences such as exploring the Golden Bridge, My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountains.
