(QNO) - The Lifestart Foundation (Australia) has completed the inspection and handover of 10 water filtration systems and storage tanks to schools in Quang Nam's remote areas.
The Lifestart Foundation donated 10 water filtration systems to schools in Phuoc Son, Que Son, and Thang Binh districts, benefiting schools with many Gie Trieng ethnic minority students in disadvantaged areas.
In Phuoc Son, six schools received the systems, while three schools in Que Son and Thang Binh also benefitted.
The systems provide clean water that meets national standards (QCVN 6-1:2010/BYT) and filter up to 250 litres per hour, removing harmful contaminants. The total project cost exceeds VND 472 million, benefiting over 2,200 students, teachers, and staff.
Karen Leonard, founder of the Lifestart Foundation, highlighted the severe impact of lack of clean water on health in remote schools.
The foundation aims to improve health and education by installing filtration systems. Since the Clean Water for Schools program began, over 12,400 people have benefitted.
The Lifestart Foundation plans to add 10 more systems, bringing the total to 58 schools. Since 2021, 48 systems have been donated, valued at over VND 2.2 billion (USD 90,000)
