At the 8th National Japanese Speech Contest - JLAN-Test Cup, held at the Hue University, Nguyen, a young student from the University of Foreign Language Studies under the University of Danang, outshone 16 competitors nationwide to win first prize.

With her speech ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Learning Japanese’. Her message was clear: AI is not a substitute for human thinking, but a tool to deepen ideas and refine expression.

She emphasized that true language mastery comes from combining personal creativity, independent learning and technology as a supportive partner.

Nguyen’s success reflects a dynamic academic environment where teachers, peers, and international exchanges foster both skill and curiosity. Through diverse cultural activities and dialogues, she has gained not only fluency but also the confidence to connect across borders.

Her award, a seven-day trip to Japan, offers the chance to experience the culture and daily life behind the language she has pursued with dedication. For Nguyen, it is more than recognition, it is renewed motivation and a reminder of her mission to bridge worlds and share perspectives.

The contest itself, organized by the Japanese Language Association for Non-Kanji Countries (JLAN) and GAG Fukuoka Japanese Language School, serves as a stage for young Vietnamese learners to showcase talent and strengthen ties between Vietnam and Japan.

Nguyen’s journey is a testament to the power of passion, discipline, and resilience. It shows that learning Japanese, or any foreign language, is not just about words, but about building bridges of understanding in an increasingly interconnected world.
