DNO - The Hang Doi (Bat Cave) in Da Nang’s Thanh Binh Commune received the municipal-level relic certificate at a ceremony held on Monday morning.
The site is formerly located in Tien An Commune, Tien Phuoc District, Quang Nam Province, but now belongs to Thanh Binh Commune, Da Nang.
Highly appreciated by geologists for its natural, cultural, and historical significance, Bat Cave has been likened to a “Jurassic Park” for its fossil formations.
It was formed hundreds of millions of years ago and belongs to one of the oldest rock formations in the Quang Nam - Da Nang region.
Bat Cave’s geological outcrops serve as a natural museum, contributing to clarifying the history of an important geological development stage of the earth.
Bat Cave was one of Da Nang's most important revolutionary bases during the 2 resistance wars against France and the US.
Currently, the Bat Cave is considered a prominent destination for eco-tourism development. The road leading to the scenic spot has been expanded, making it very convenient for developing tourism and services.
