(QNO) - On April 10, at the small flower garden near the Ban Than - Hon Mang - Hon Dua relic site, the People’s Committee of Tam Hai Commune (Nui Thanh District), in collaboration with the Management Board of the Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area, organized the festival “For Tam Hai blue sea".
The festival attracted over 200 delegates representing various organizations, agencies, mass associations, students, teachers, and a large number of local residents from the island commune of Tam Hai. It is part of the Marine Plastic Waste Reduction Project, funded by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
The event featured a variety of activities, including the launch of the “For Tam Hai blue sea” action group; the distribution of trash collection nets and shoreline waste-gathering models to local fishermen; a pledge-signing ceremony to protect the marine environment; a beach cleanup campaign and a "trash-for-gifts" exchange initiative.
The festival aims to reduce plastic waste in the sea, demonstrate the shared responsibility of businesses and fishermen in environmental protection, and contribute to making the island’s marine space increasingly cleaner, greener and more beautiful.
