DNO - The Kanagawa Festival in Da Nang 2025, hosted by the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Government of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture, took place on Thursday.
The festival featured a wide range of fascinating activities introducing information on studying abroad and job opportunities, along with the distinctive tourism and cultural values of Kanagawa Prefecture.
A highlight of the event was the final round of the Japanese Speech and Presentation Contest for students, plus an online exchange session with Vietnamese students currently studying in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Visitors to the festival had a chance to experience unique aspects of Japanese culture through several activities, including Yosakoi dance - a vibrant performance imbued with Japan’s youthful spirit and traditional energy, as well as to enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine.

In his opening speech at the festival, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji highlighted the significance of the festival in introducing and promoting the beauty of Kanagawa Prefecture to local residents, as well as providing information on education, employment, and study opportunities in the prefecture.
He emphasized that through cultural and educational exchange activities, the both localities will continue strengthening friendship and cooperation in various fields, greatly contributing to the strong development of the Vietnam - Japan relationship.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed that Da Nang highly valued its partnership with Japan, particularly with Kanagawa Prefecture, over the past years.
She said that the year 2025 marked the fourth consecutive Kanagawa Festival held in Da Nang. The event has become an annual rendezvous, attracting the participation of many partners, businesses and especially students.
This was a vivid demonstration of the friendly cooperation between the two localities, reflecting the interest, affection and goodwill of Kanagawa Prefecture and Governor Kuroiwa Yuji towards Da Nang, she added.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi voiced her hope that in the coming time, the two localities will make more efforts to turn the festival into an annual activity not only in the education field but also expanding in scale, format, and diversity of activities.
