Da Nang youth embrace green lifestyle

Not only changing in their consumption habits, young people in Da Nang have had many changes in awareness when every small action is aimed at sustainable development for the community and the green planet.

Terrarium trend

One of the most prominent trends is the terrarium model - "miniature gardens" which is loved by young people because of their creativity and a feeling of relaxation and closeness to nature.

From selecting small, environmentally friendly plants that can thrive inside glass jars to decorating with rocks, soil and sand to create a mini ecosystem, terrarium has become a way for young people to express their personality, style and love for nature.

Ms. Phung Thi Cam Tuyen, co-founder of Heal Terra - a Da Nang-based gift shop specializing in terrarium products, said that the terrarium model began to gain popularity in 2022 when COVID-19 broke out.

Heal Terra now creates stable jobs for 6 local workers. In addition to selling decorative products and gifts, the shop organizes workshops to connect nature lovers, teach terrarium-making techniques, and promote an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Forming green habits

Also inspired by the green living trend, Ms. Ha Trinh Ngan, the owner of the free flower workshop in Da Nang, chooses to spread positive energy through flowers.

With her great passion for flowers and desire to share the beauty of nature, she regularly organizes free workshops for young people who love the art of floral arrangement.

In response to the green living movement, the Da Nang Youth Union in collaboration with UNICEF Vietnam recently launched the project "Building a green library model" in 2025.

The initiative aims to educate young people citywide about protecting school environments and public spaces, enhance their awareness about climate change, and at the same time effectively improve the reading culture in the city.

Le Khanh Linh from the Trung Vuong Junior High School based in Hai Chau Ward said that participating in recycling activities and green workshops helped her and other friends form environmentally friendly habits from an early age.
