DNO - Welcoming a famtrip delegation of 12 representatives from leading Japanese travel companies, Da Nang hopes to strengthen its ties with the Japanese market, particularly ahead of the launch of the direct Osaka (Kansai) - Da Nang air route in December.

From November 5 to 8, 2026, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Vietjet Air, hosted a famtrip delegation comprising 12 representatives from reputable Japanese travel companies who visited, surveyed and experienced the city’s tourism products and services.
This practical promotional initiative aimed to strengthen connections with the Japanese market, particularly as Vietjet Air prepares to launch its direct Osaka (Kansai) - Da Nang air service on December 20, 2026.
During their four-day trip, the delegation had the opportunity to explore a range of distinctive destinations, tourism products and services in Da Nang and neighboring areas.
In particular, they participated in hands-on pottery and woodworking workshops at NHAAN Resort & Spa Hoi An, and explored the cultural heritage and architectural beauty of Hoi An Ancient Town.
They also toured Sun World Ba Na Hills, the iconic Golden Bridge and high-end resorts such as TIA Wellness Resort Da Nang and Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa.
Going shopping at Han Market, sampling local cuisine and learning about the distinctive cultural traditions and everyday life of local residents were also included in their itinerary.

Through the program, representatives from the Japanese travel companies directly assessed the quality of services, tourism supply capacity and diversity of products available in Da Nang.
These first-hand experiences provided a valuable basis for developing tour programs tailored to the preferences and demands of Japanese travelers.
As part of the program, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted a gala dinner at Maha Vegetariano Restaurant on the evening of November 6 to facilitate networking and exchanges with the Japanese famtrip delegation.
The event provided an opportunity for tourism businesses from both sides to meet, exchange information, showcase their products and explore potential partnerships, particularly in developing tour packages linking Da Nang with the Japanese market.
Notably, the promotional initiative comes as Vietjet Air prepares to launch its direct Osaka (Kansai) - Da Nang air route on December 20, 2026.
The service is scheduled to operate four flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The new route is expected to offer greater travel convenience for visitors in both directions as well as to enhance connectivity between Da Nang and one of Japan's major economic and tourism hubs.
It will also create favorable conditions for Japanese travel companies to proactively develop and expand tourism products to Da Nang, helping strengthen the city's competitiveness as an international destination.
In the first 10 months of 2026, accommodation establishments across Da Nang served more than 17.08 million visitors, up 24.5% year on year. International arrivals exceeded 8.3 million, representing a 24.1% increase.
Specifically, Japan contributed more than 349,653 visitors, up over 48% from the same period last year. Japanese tourists accounted for 4.48% of total international arrivals to Da Nang, making Japan the city's eighth-largest international visitor market.
Currently, air connectivity between Da Nang and Japan is maintained through Vietnam Airlines’ regular services from Tokyo, operating 11 flights per week, and Osaka, with five flights per week.
The addition of Vietjet Air’s Osaka (Kansai) - Da Nang route from December 20, 2026, is expected to further expand the air connectivity network between the two markets.
