DNO - Vietnam will host the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) for the first time, with Hoiana Shores Golf Club in Da Nang, selected to stage the prestigious tournament from October 28 to 31, 2027.

The announcement marks a milestone for Vietnamese golf and highlights the country’s growing profile as an international golf destination.
The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), Augusta National Golf Club and The R&A announced the venues for the next two editions of the championship at a press conference on October 29 at Te Arai Links in Auckland, New Zealand.
Hoiana Shores Golf Club will host the 2027 championship, while New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia, has been selected to stage the 2028 edition from November 2 to 5.
Established in 2009, the AAC is one of the region’s most prestigious amateur golf tournaments, bringing together leading male amateur players from across Asia and the Pacific.
The championship provides a pathway for emerging golfers to compete for opportunities at some of the world’s most renowned professional events.
A major attraction of the AAC is the opportunity it offers its champion. The winner earns invitations to compete in the following year’s Masters Tournament and The Open, providing a pathway to two of golf’s most prestigious championships.
Designed by renowned golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 2019, Hoiana Shores Golf Club is set along the central coast of Vietnam.
The course runs through coastal dunes stretching more than 2.4 kilometers, creating a distinctive landscape and a strategically challenging playing environment. Hoiana Shores Golf Club offers a thrilling links golf experience for golfers of all levels.
With a spectacular natural seaside setting, a luxurious clubhouse and 18 challenging-yet-rewarding holes, this is a must-play course for any golf enthusiasts.
The course has earned recognition for its design and playing experience. Its selection as host venue for the 2027 AAC further highlights its capacity to stage major international golf events and reflects Vietnam’s increasing appeal to the global golf community.
Hoiana Shores was named Vietnam’s Best Golf Course in 2026 at the Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards, reinforcing its standing in the country’s golf tourism sector.
Golf tourism is an area Vietnam is developing to attract international visitors and increase the value of its tourism services. Hosting the AAC is expected to bring benefits beyond the sporting competition.
The event will provide an opportunity to showcase Vietnam’s golf facilities, tourism offerings and event-hosting capabilities to an international audience, as well as create opportunities for local golfers to engage with leading amateur players from across the region.
The 2027 championship will also support broader efforts to promote Vietnam as a golf destination, linking sport with tourism and contributing to the development of competitive golf in the country.
It is expected to encourage cooperation among golf organizations, strengthen amateur golf and help build experience in hosting international tournaments.
