As Vietnam’s top performer in digital transformation for 4 consecutive years and a 5-time winner of the Exemplary Smart City award, Da Nang is positioning itself as a national pioneer and a regional innovation hub.
The city’s achievements highlight its consistent efforts to link digital transformation with administrative reforms, business competitiveness, and improved quality of life.
These efforts are drawing increasing interest from both domestic and international stakeholders who see Da Nang as a model for sustainable urban development in Southeast Asia.
At a recent forum, experts and policymakers discussed Vietnam’s digital economy, strategies for measuring and expanding Da Nang’s digital sector, and the potential for growth in e-commerce.
Plans to develop an international financial center in Da Nang were also unveiled, reflecting the city’s ambition to become a gateway for global capital and investment.
To reinforce this momentum, at a meeting on Sept., 22, the Da Nang People’s Committee signed a memorandum of understanding with Grab Vietnam to enhance digital service cooperation.
In parallel, FUNDGO, a local venture capital fund, partnered with the University of Economics under the University of Da Nang to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among young talent.
Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu stressed that building a robust digital economy is not just a strategic priority but “the key to creating a smart, innovative, livable, and sustainable city.
With a clear roadmap, strong government commitment and expanding public-private partnerships, Da Nang is sending a message to global investors: the city is open for business and ready to lead Vietnam’s digital future.
