Da Nang simultaneously breaks ground on boarding schools in border communes

DNO - The People's Committee of Da Nang held groundbreaking ceremonies for some inter-level boarding schools combining primary and lower secondary education across border communes on Sunday.

In his remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dac Pring Inter-level Primary and Junior Secondary Boarding School, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang highlighted that the policy to develop a network of boarding schools in border communes was a strategic visionary decision imbued with the profound humanity of the Party and State.

These educational institutions, he said, were not only educational projects but also symbols of trust and national solidarity.

He also emphasized that the new school will be a place to sow knowledge, light up dreams and realize aspirations, as well as a symbol of the spirit of great national solidarity, and a testament to the care and responsibility of the Party, the State, and the people for ethnic minority communities.

According to the Quang Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board - the project’s developer, the school has a total investment of VND 288.711 billion and covers more than 60,000m².

It will feature two three-storey classroom blocks with a total construction area of ​​about 3,686m², a three-storey administrative block with a total floor area of ​​2,280m², a one-storey dining hall, a one-storey multi-purpose hall, a three-storey student dormitory block, and a three-storey housing block for teachers and staff.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the La Dee Inter-level Primary and Junior Secondary Boarding School in Dac Re Hamlet, La Dee Commune, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee, affirmed that the city always considered education as a key driver for sustainable development in border areas.

He noted that boarding schools not only offered better learning conditions for pupils, but also contributed to building local human resources, stabilizing the population and strengthening national border security.

Covering a total area of over 78,700m2, the La Dee Inter-level Primary and Junior Secondary Boarding School project will have with a total investment of nearly VND 291.551 billion.

The school is designed to modern standards, with academic, residential, and functional facilities meeting the requirements of the new-generation border boarding school model.

It will consist of classrooms, subject-specific rooms, a library, a multipurpose hall, dining facilities, dormitories for pupils and teachers, a football field, as well as a fire prevention and fighting system, wastewater treatment, and synchronized technical infrastructure.

The project is scheduled for completion in August 2026 and ready for the 2026 -2027 academic year.

Also on the same day, Mr. Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee cum Chairman of the People's Committee, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the A Vuong Inter-level Primary and Junior Secondary Boarding School in the namesake commune.

According to Chairman An, A Vuong is a land rich in revolutionary traditions with an important geopolitical position for national defence and security. The construction of a boarding and semi-boarding school here not only meets the education needs of nearly 1,000 ethnic minority children but also ensures the long-term learning conditions for primary and lower secondary school pupils in the commune.

The A Vuong Boarding School project will be built on an area of ​​over 7 hectares, with a scale of 30 classes across primary and lower secondary levels.

It will comprise dormitories for pupils, housing for teachers and staff, a multi-purpose house, a library, and synchronous technical infrastructure, with a total investment of VND 293 billion. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in August 2026.

Also on the same day, city leaders attended a ceremony to break ground on the Hung Son Inter-level Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School.
