Da Nang selects contractor for pre-feasibility study of LRT system project

The Da Nang Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects announced on Monday that it has just approved the first adjusted and supplemented contractor selection plan for the LRT project in the city.

The first bid package will involve consulting services for conducting a survey and preparing a pre-feasibility study report with a total value of VND 10.7 billion funded from the city budget.

A domestic open bidding process via the Internet will be conducted for the package, utilizing a one-stage, two-envelope method. The implementation period for this bid package will be 150 days.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang called for investment in a LRT project connecting Da Nang and Hoi An, with a total estimated investment capital of VND 7.497 trillion to VND 14.995 trillion.

The Da Nang - Hoi An LRT route has been already integrated into the city’s urban transport development plan for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The project aims to significantly alleviate congestion on the Da Nang - Hoi An route and to synchronously develop the local strategic transport infrastructure system with five types of transport: road, railway, inland waterway, seaway and air in a modern direction.

This development aligns with national planning orientation and effectively ensures intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity along the coastal economic corridors and East-West Economic Corridor.
