Da Nang rolls out strategy to promote Vietnam's image abroad

DNO - The Da Nang People's Committee has issued Plan No. 332/KH-UBND dated June 30, 2026, on the implementation of a communications strategy to promote Vietnam's image abroad for the 2026 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2045, in the city.

The city aims to enhance the recognition and goodwill of the international community towards Da Nang in association with the national brand of Vietnam, contributing to making the city become a leading center for the economy, tourism and innovation in Southeast Asia.

By 2030, Da Nang targets the completion of an integrated digital data and communications system connected to the Vietnam.vn platform, as well as increase positive coverage of the city in international media by at least 20% per year.

All municipal departments, agencies and local authorities are expected to incorporate promotional content into their foreign affairs activities, while positioning Da Nang as a priority destination on the global tourism and investment map.

By 2045, Da Nang seeks to contribute to Vietnam’s inclusion among the world’s top 30 countries in the Global Soft Power Index. The city also sets a goal of transforming itself into an ecological and smart city, a hub for startups and innovation, and a world-class, highly liveable coastal city in Asia.

To achieve these goals, the city will implement a comprehensive set of measures, including renewing approaches to external communications, developing multilingual content systems, building a digital communications ecosystem powered by technology and artificial intelligence, and strengthening inter-agency coordination while mobilizing social resources and international partnerships for image promotion.

At the same time, Da Nang will focus on enhancing the capacity of its specialized communications workforce, improving monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and proactively safeguarding the city’s image in the international arena.
