DNO - Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet hosted a reception on Tuesday for Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz and some businesses.
Mr. Triet informed that the city has been focusing on developing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and the Da Nang International Financial Center, as well as attracting foreign investment in such new fields as semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The city is prioritizing support for high-tech agricultural production models, organic farming and agri-tourism. It has also paid attention to promoting agricultural mechanization and developing value chain of agricultural products and high-tech livestock farming, he added.
According to Chairman Triet, the cooperation between Da Nang and Danish partners is still modest compared to the potential and development opportunities of both sides. He, therefore, urged Ambassador Nicolai Prytz to introduce more Danish investors and partners to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, and the Lien Chieu Port.
Given Denmark’s strengths in advanced agricultural technology and sustainable development, he expressed his hope for stronger support from the Danish diplomat in investment promotion and technology transfer in these areas.
The city's leader pledged to create favorable conditions for Danish investors to conduct research, field surveys, and projects in the city.
For his part, Ambassador Nicolai Prytz expressed his impression of the city’s rapid growth. He voiced his hope that, with new mechanisms and policies from the central government, the city would achieve significant breakthroughs in the coming time.
On the basis of the increasingly strong Comprehensive Partnership between Denmark and Vietnam, Mr. Nicolai Prytz affirmed that he will support Da Nang in high-tech agriculture and livestock technology transfer, and further encourage Danish enterprises to learn about the investment environment in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.
Up to now, Da Nang has attracted two Danish-invested projects totalling about US$ 71,000. In 2024, the city’s export turnover to Denmark hit US$ 19 million. The main export items were garments, components, children's toys, and handicrafts.
