The Museum of Da Nang and the Museum of Cham Sculpture offer discounted tickets for locals and students starting from July 3, aiming to boost cultural access and public engagement.
Under the updated scheme, Da Nang citizens and students now pay just VND 20,000 (under $1) per person.
Entry remains free for children under 16, the elderly (60+), people with disabilities, diplomats, and those covered by Vietnam’s cultural welfare policies.
The Museum of Da Nang charges VND 50,000 per visitor, while the Museum of Cham Sculpture sets the admission fee at VND 60,000 for visitors from other Vietnamese cities and provinces, and international travellers.
Both museums are open free of charge to all visitors during four key holidays: Lunar New Year’s Day, Da Nang Liberation Day (March 29), Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day (lunar March 10), and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).
The new pricing strategy has led to a surge in visitors. In just the first 15 days, the Museum of Da Nang welcomed over 13,000 visitors, including 9,531 domestic tourists, 1,760 foreigners and 1,840 students.
Meanwhile, the Museum of Cham Sculpture attracted more than 4,500 visitors, with a significant majority (over 4,000) being international guests.
This inclusive policy not only enhances cultural outreach but also turns local residents into tourism ambassadors. “The museum exceeded my expectations with its modern design and informative exhibits,” shared Nguyen Duc Thach, a local first-time visitor.
With inclusive pricing and a strong cultural mission, Da Nang’s museums are not only preserving heritage, they’re making it accessible, inspiring locals and travelers alike to rediscover the city’s rich historical legacy.
