DNO - Da Nang has been actively seeking financial and in-kind support from foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to help needy people. This international aid helps foster friendship, build humanitarian bridges, and strengthen the bonds between the city and its global partners.

Proactively fostering partnerships with foreign NGOs is an important channel for mobilizing resources for social welfare, and for strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Da Nang and international partners as well.
Cooperation programs have become increasingly diverse and addressed practical local needs in various areas such as education, healthcare, community health, child protection, support for people with disabilities, sustainable poverty reduction, environmental protection and climate change response.
For instance, Children’s Hope in Action (CHIA) has been implementing the project “Supporting Disadvantaged Children in Da Nang” through a range of activities, including awarding scholarships, providing wheelchairs and tricycles, offering physical therapy for children with disabilities, building and repairing homes, and upgrading clean water and sanitation systems at schools.
Since the beginning of 2026, the project has disbursed around VND1.4 billion, provided tuition assistance for 60 students, presented 500 Mid-Autumn Festival gift packages and completed the construction of a charity house for a family with a child with disabilities.
The project has committed to continuing its activities over the next three years, aimed at helping improve local social welfare.
In a similar vein, Children of Vietnam (COV) is implementing four other major projects in Da Nang: the Disability Care System, Education for a Brighter Future, the Nutrition Program, and the Water, Sanitation and Health Program.
As of September 2026, COV had disbursed more than VND15.1 billion to support education, healthcare and livelihood programs for children with disabilities, ethnic minority students and women in difficult circumstances.

In recent years, Da Nang has carried out the mobilization, receipt and management of foreign NGO aid in a professional, transparent and effective manner.
As of October 2026, the city had newly approved or adjusted 110 projects and non-project assistance programs, with total committed funding exceeding VND500 billion.
The funding directly benefits thousands of people, including children, women, people with disabilities and the elderly.
Based on practical needs, the municipal People’s Committee recently issued a list of 20 projects seeking foreign NGO assistance.
The local Department of Foreign Affairs has coordinated with relevant agencies to send project introduction letters and directly approach potential donors.
To date, two projects have secured funding approval: “Strengthening Primary Healthcare for the Elderly and Children in Dong Duong Commune” and “Supporting the Domestic Water Supply System for Residents of Phuoc Tra Commune”.
In addition, as of October 2026, the Department of Foreign Affairs had successfully mobilized more than VND89 billion in committed funding for 12 other foreign NGO projects and non-project assistance programs.
For the 2026 - 2030 period, Da Nang plans to step up cooperation with foreign NGOs by making the most of international partners’ strengths and closely aligning aid funding with the city’s strategic socio-economic development goals.
The city will focus resources on key priority areas, including innovation, the application of science and technology and digital transformation; sustainable development and environmental protection; education and training; healthcare; culture, sports and tourism; agriculture, forestry and fisheries; new rural development; and addressing social issues.
