DNO - Economic diplomacy is becoming a key driving force in helping Da Nang move closer to its goal of building an international financial center.

Proactively attracting international resources
In its development orientation, Da Nang identifies finance and technology as two strategic pillars to turn itself into Vietnam’s hub of knowledge, innovation, and global integration.
To realize this ambition, the city considers economic diplomacy as the main driving force which plays a leading role in expanding international cooperation and attracting strategic resources.
In early November, the Swiss - Viet Economic Forum was held for the first time in Da Nang. It marked a significant milestone in the city’s economic diplomacy efforts, opening up new cooperation opportunities in finance and high technology as well as affirming Da Nang's increasing position in the network connecting with leading global innovation centers.
Following the success of the forum, Da Nang continued to implement a series of economic diplomacy activities in Switzerland to expand cooperation, mobilize resources, and access international expertise in the finance and technology sectors.
International cooperation toward building a financial center
At the same time, Da Nang stepped up its efforts to attract financial and technology partners through a seminar titled "Da Nang - A New Destination for Fintech and Green Finance" in Zurich.

At the event, Da Nang received extensive professional advice on the operational model of international financial centers, including legal frameworks, intellectual property systems and export controls. These are core elements in creating a safe and transparent investment environment aligned with European standards.
From Switzerland, the delegation continued its work in Vienna (Austria) for a seminar themed "Da Nang: An Emerging Financial and Technology Hub in Vietnam". Many Austrian businesses expressed their strong interest in the city’s potential and development, and made proposals related to investment attraction policies, energy supply, infrastructure and transportation connectivity, waste treatment capacity and environmental protection, and education and high-quality workforce development.
To date, the city has signed nearly 20 memoranda of understanding with global organizations such as Abu Dhabi Global Market, Binance, Tether, APEX Group, and the Swiss Fintech Association. These agreements lay an important foundation for Da Nang’s future financial - technology ecosystem.
The series of economic diplomacy activities in Switzerland and Austria not only helped Da Nang expand its cooperation network with Europe but also deepened relations with leading countries in finance and technology. Diversifying partners and reducing reliance on traditional markets give the city more room to strengthen its position and negotiating capacity on the international stage.
It is clear that economic diplomacy is becoming an important driving force for the city's ongoing transformation, gradually affirming Da Nang not only as the economic and social center of Central Vietnam but also demonstrating its pioneering role in leading other localities in the process of modern development.
