Nationwide, average 5G download speeds reached 447.03 Mbps last month, with upload speeds at 99.26 Mbps. Compared to June, the figures represent more than a 50% jump, underscoring the rapid improvement of next-generation mobile infrastructure in the country.

Among Vietnam’s five biggest urban centers (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho), Da Nang has consistently ranked first in 5G performance from January to July 2025.

In July alone, the coastal city recorded an average download speed of 568.49 Mbps, far ahead of runner-up Hai Phong at 395.17 Mbps.

Since January, Da Nang’s 5G speed has nearly doubled, rising from 304.19 Mbps.

The Da Nang administration has set a target to achieve 100% 5G coverage across all residential areas in the city by the end of 2025. To meet this goal, telecom operators are accelerating network expansion.

MobiFone, in collaboration with Sun Group, has launched the “50,000 eSIM Hi Vietnam” programme to boost the city’s image as a smart, connected tourism hub.

From August 12, every international traveler arriving at the Da Nang International Airport will receive a free eSIM with 8GB of high-speed 5G data valid for 24 hours.

At the same time, MobiFone’s Central Network Center has deployed 632 new 4G stations and 320 5G stations to enhance coverage across the region.

The upgrades not only reinforce Da Nang’s reputation as a modern, 'livable city', but also highlight Vietnam’s broader ambitions to position itself as a leader in digital infrastructure within Southeast Asia.
