DNO - On the afternoon of March 18, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Le Quang Nam chaired an online meeting with Dr. Alfonso Vegara, President of Fundación Metrópoli (Spain), to discuss and gather expert input on the city’s urban planning direction.
At the meeting, Da Nang noted it is currently adjusting its master plan to 2045, with a vision to 2075, aiming to build a modern, smart, and sustainable city that is highly competitive in the region.
Based on this orientation, experts shared a range of insights and recommendations regarding urban planning strategies, spatial development, and socio-economic growth for the city in the coming period.
These inputs are considered important references for Da Nang as it continues to refine its planning scheme toward the goal of developing a modern, sustainable, and culturally distinctive urban environment.
City leaders also discussed the possibility of cooperation with Fundación Metrópoli in sharing expertise and development models and providing professional feedback on the revised master plan.
Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam highly appreciated the experts’ thoughtful, in-depth, and constructive recommendations, particularly those related to the city’s adjusted master plan through 2045 with a vision to 2075.
The city will assign the Department of Construction, in coordination with relevant agencies, to study and incorporate these proposals to further improve the plan.
Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam also agreed in principle to establish a long-term cooperation roadmap with Fundación Metrópoli, prioritising the organisation's role in providing expert consultation for the master planning process.
City leaders expressed their hope to welcome Dr. Alfonso Vegara to Da Nang in the near future for more in-depth discussions on the city’s urban development direction.
