DNO - The U.S.-based travel magazine AFAR has just released its list of “26 Best Places to Travel in 2026” which includes Da Nang.

AFAR's list of 26 outstanding destinations is based on natural beauty and tourism services aligned with global travel trends, especially the growing preference for destinations that balance nature, indigenous culture and modern experiences, instead of crowded tourist hotspots. Da Nang is the only destination in Vietnam on the list.
Da Nang was selected based on the criteria of "the rise of the balanced experiences". The coastal city stands out thanks to its long and clean sandy beaches which are ideal for relaxation without being overcrowded.
Also, its diverse ecosystem lies within a short radius: the Han River, the Son Tra Peninsula, the Marble Mountains and the Hai Van Pass.
The city also boasts modern infrastructure, including an international airport with connections across continents and the capacity to handle tens of millions of passengers.
In addition, Da Nang offers a rare "one destination, three experiences" connectivity among global tourist cities, including beautiful beaches, pristine nature on the Son Tra Peninsula, and proximity to two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary.
Most interestingly, AFAR highlights cuisine as Da Nang's strongest identifying factor thanks to the preservation of authentic local culture through culinary identity and friendly service. In particular, street food creates a difference and is no less attractive than luxury restaurants.
AFAR is a reputable international travel magazine known for in-depth articles on travel guides, experiences, culture, and destinations, all delivered with a commitment to responsible tourism.
