DNO - On the evening of January 9, Da Nang City hosted the “Meet Da Nang 2026” event, affirming its role as a key growth pole in Central Vietnam and signalling a government committed to reform, breakthroughs and dynamic development.
Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Pham Duc An delivered remarks at the event, stating that 2025 was a historic milestone with the merger of Da Nang and Quang Nam, expanding development space and enabling a more streamlined and effective two-tier government model.
This creates momentum for Da Nang to accelerate growth, develop sustainably, and affirm its role as a major socio-economic and financial centre and key growth engine for Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
Da Nang’s 2025 outlook showed strong momentum across GRDP growth, budget revenue, trade, FDI attraction and a sharp tourism rebound led by international arrivals.
The city also advanced foreign affairs by hosting major international events, including the Da Nang Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities, Meet ASEAN, Meet Japan, Meet Korea, and the Swiss - Vietnam Economic Forum, alongside annual highlights such as the International Fireworks Festival, Asian Film Festival and IRONMAN, expanding cooperation and strengthening global partnerships.
The city expressed gratitude for the support of diplomatic missions, organisations, businesses, experts and overseas Vietnamese, and called on partners to continue accompanying Da Nang as it enters a new development phase.
“Meet Da Nang” is positioned as an important external relations event signalling a proactive, reform-driven government ready for deeper international cooperation.
The programme also featured exhibitions on Da Nang’s 2025 achievements and cultural activities such as bánh chưng (Vietnamese square sticky rice cake) making and calligraphy, offering international guests hands-on insight into Vietnamese traditions of Tết (Lunar New Year).
To date, Da Nang has established cooperative ties with 62 localities in 24 countries through 121 agreements, forming a key framework for deeper collaboration.
