DNO - Da Nang has just been honored with the title "Angels Region" at the Global Stroke Alliance (GSA) recently held in Ha Noi.
The "Angels Region" title is awarded by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and the Angels Network to regions that fully meet the comprehensive criteria in stroke care. These include raising community awareness, effectively collaborating with the pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS), improving in-hospital treatment processes, and ensuring sustainability and network expansion.
Along with Da Nang, four other regions in Vietnam awarded the aforementioned title have been Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and An Giang.
This is the first time that localities in Vietnam have been honored with the title, marking an important step forward in developing an international-standard synchronous and effective stroke emergency and treatment model.
Da Nang's recognition reflects the synchronization and professionalism of the entire city’s health system from grassroots-level to specialized healthcare facilities, and from pre-hospital emergency response to in-hospital treatment.
This result also contributes to affirming Da Nang's position in the stroke treatment map of Vietnam and the region.
On the occasion, the Da Nang Hospital which plays a central role in the city's stroke treatment system has maintained the Diamond Status certification.
This is the highest level in the Angels assessment system, with outstanding indicators such as short door-to-needle time, high rate of thrombolytic and cerebral vascular interventions, and the capacity to successfully handle complex stroke cases.
Aside from its professional duties, the Da Nang Hospital has actively got involved in training, guiding, and connecting with other units inside and outside the city.
These facilities have been Hoa Vang, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Cam Le, Ngu Hanh Son, Gia Dinh, Vinmec Da Nang and 199 hospitals, as well as Emergency Center 115, and Quang Nam and Quang Ngai general hospitals.
